Population: 30+/- million

Capital city: Kathmandu  (population 1 million)

Major airports: Kathmandu (KTM), Pokhara (PKR)

Main tourist draws: Mt Everest and Annapurna treks, Bhaktapur ancient city, temples in Kathmandu – Boudhanath and Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Ghorapani Poon Hill trek near Pokhara

Exchange rate: 1 USD = 106 NPR (Nepalese rupee) (April 2016)

Local cuisine: Dal baht, baby, dal baht everywhere, everyday dal baht! (there’s a story behind this), Nepalese dumplings called momo, buffalo curd (yogurt) which is delicious and sold in clay pots you return to the vendor, a spicy chickpea dish I only saw eaten at breakfast that I think is called Chana

Beer: Nepal Ice, Gorkha, Commando (gotta try this one just because of the name), Mustang Premium Lager, Kathmandu and many more I haven’t tried. These are all okay. I lean towards Mustang lager as a fave

I have had incredible travel opportunities since moving overseas eleven years ago. I created this blog to share my experiences, what I've learned, and my mistakes and frustrations, in hopes of entertaining readers and helping people to create and plan their own travel opportunities.

I would love to know your thoughts!
